Midi Expression Compatibility with Elektron Digitone

Hi, and thanks in advance for reading and possibly providing the question's answer.

I'm wondering whether the MIDI Expression (single) module can connect a kick pedal trigger directly into an Elektron Digitone. The Digitone has a usb port for MIDI as well as a MIDI port accepting MIDI in. As far as I've read, the Digitone is a USB "device" rather than a "host", and it is class compliant as well. I am also wondering whether, with this all in mind, the module will receive the requisite power via the Digitone's USB.

MIDI Expression devices are not compatible with piezo based trigger pedals. I suggest an eDRUMin, which is designed for piezos. The ED4 has a MIDI out port that you could connect to the MIDI in on the Digitone.
