Single Channel MIDI Expression

Hello, I just wanted to make sure before I purchase. I simply need to be able to connect a sustain pedal (TS plug) to my computer to toggle monitoring on/off on a specific track in my DAW. I'll just be turning a mic on/off with it. I assume the sustain pedal connected to the MIDI Expression sold here will work fine? Thanks.
