Hi, Rob,

I am using the MIDI Expression with KORG microKey 37 on my MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.2. I have installed the firmware 1.1.1.2 and the control app 1.1.1.1. Apple audio MIDI setup recognizes Midi Expression in the midi windows. However, once KORG microKey is connected, MIDI Expression disappears in Midi setup list. I fear that these two drivers are conflicted. Thanks for any suggestions!

FYI, using MIDI Expression with Dirigent Xkey keyboard, I have no troubles. Really Good combination!

I doubt it's driver relate, as both devices are class compliant, but I could be wrong. I need some more information from you. First, where are you plugging the two devices? Are they connected to hubs or are they on dedicated USB ports?

Could you check some things for me...

1. If you don't have a pedal plugged in to MIDI Expression, and you plug the Korg in, does the issue still occur?

2. When you unplug the Korg, does MIDI Expression show up again?

3. What happens if you plug MIDI Expression into one of the USB ports on the Korg?

They are connected to Macbook pro USB ports directly.

Here is the results.

Yes. I tested these steps.
step 1) When I connect to MIDI Expression without a pedal, Apple MIDI setup activates MIDI Exp icon.
step 2) KORG is connected, MIDI Exp icon has gone away.

Never shows up automatically.
Also I restart MIDI setup software, but MIDI Exp never show up.

Same.
After I connect to MIDI exp into one of the KORG USB ports, then KORG to Macbook. Audio Midi setup activates KORG and removes MIDI exp.

While I do these tests, I find another issue without Korg.
First Plug in MIDI exp to macbook, MIdi setup normally activates MIDI exp.
Second I plug off MIDI expression, MIdi setup normally deactivates MIDI exp.
FInally I plug in MIDI exp to macbook again, MIdi setup removes MIDI exp. I expected MIDI setup would activate MIDI exp.

I fear this would also relate to KORG case. I hope your suggestions soon.

Thank-you for your very detailed response. Are you using the Korg driver?
If you are, you might try removing it and using the OSX built-in driver. If you aren't, you might try installing it and seeing if that sorts things out. I'll do some investigating over here on my own and see if I can't reproduce the issue.

I tried it, and I'm happy that MIDI exp works
It also solve the issue of MIDI exp without Korg. I really enjoyed MIDI exp and Korg combination with Apple MainStage 3.

Thanks for your efforts. It doesn't matter not to use Korg native driver 1.2.1 for a moment.
