Using the MIDI Expression Pedal with Digital Performer 8

I am using the Midi Expression with Digital Performer 8 on my Windows computer running Windows 8. I have installed the firmware and the control app and Digital Performer recognizes the device in the midi devices list. However, no data is being imputed to Digital Performer. My expression pedal (a M-audio one) has no problem interacting with the control app. Thanks for any suggestions!

You are trying to record onto a MIDI track in DP? What firmware version is MIDI Expression?
