Hi Robert. I haven't used my pedal for a few months, and I loaded Yosemite in that period. I'm on an iMac, late 2009, intel core 2 duo. 3.06 GHz. I updated the software and firmware (2.1.0.8 and 2.1.0.1) and now my midi-related programs, both Reason and Amplitube, lock up when the pedal is plugged in and I click anywhere in the two programs. Got any ideas?

ME locks up my music programs
Re: ME locks up my music programs
Hi John,
I have some questions for you. Does the MIDI Expression Control Application run as expected? Are you using a USB hub? What audio interface are you using?

Re: ME locks up my music programs
The app seems to work fine, I see the pedal moving and I can make adjustments. When I scan for midi devices, the iMac midi program locks up too when the ME is plugged in. No hub. It's going straight in to the iMac USB, not through my TC Electronic Impact Twin interface. It was working fine before Yosemite and before the update, but I don't know which thing is the problem.
Re: ME locks up my music programs
Hmm... Perhaps it's a permissions issue. Could you try changing the color of your device, that'll cause OSX to load a new driver for the MIDI Expression. You can do that my clicking on the firmware version in the Control Application. At the bottom right hand side, click on the 'color' button and change it to BLACK or some other color and then click the UPDATE button.

Re: ME locks up my music programs
I changed the color from blue to black and the Apple Midi Studio software recognized the connection with the ME pedal, but the ME Control software did not see the pedal. I changed the color back to blue and noticed that the Firmware was 1.0.0.0. I reinstalled the 2.1.0.8 software, plugged in the pedal when asked, but the firmware remained 1.0.0.0 and a message says Can't seem to find the firmware, reinstall ME Control. Tried it again several times, firmware remains 1.0.0.0

Hi John,
Sorry for all the hassle. Could you please try to manually update the firmware. Here's a link with instructions. I'll see if I can't reproduce this behavior. Do you happen to know what firmware version you were running before you updated?

I manually installed the firmware, no change. I deinstalled everything, reinstalled 2.1.0.8 and manually reinstalled 2.1.0.1, now Midi Studio will not recognize ME and ME will not recognize the pedal. Changed the color, still the same. I think the previous version was from March of 2014.

Re: ME locks up my music programs
I reinstalled everything a few times and now ME Control is seeing the pedal fine, but it still locks up all the apps that look for midi: Reason, Amplitube, Midi Studio, and MidiMonitor. What setting should the Channel and CC be on? I tried numerous and it didn't seem to change anything.
