Is "Hold (P1) the same as "Sustain"?

Hi,
1) Is input "Hold (P1) the same as "Sustain"?
looking to get some pedals for the MIDI Expression iO purchased.
The Keyboard Controller A-300 it has:
HOLD (P1)
EXPRESSION (P2)
but not a "Sustain"
2) Which pedals need a mono and stereo cable?

It certainly sounds like HOLD and Sustain are the same in this context. Generally speaking, sustain pedals use mono (TS) cables and everything else uses stereo (TRS).
