Hello,
Composer newish to electronic works and need some help with my current project. Midi in my life has been mostly plug and play so please excuse my ignorance on the matter.
Here is where I am at:
I have four musicians each playing a no-input mixer (utilizing feedback loops). These are being run 1/4" into Ableton Live 10 through an audio interface.
I am currently controlling the volume of their sounds with the faders on my Akai APC40mkii controller, and I want the individual players to have that ability. Initially I thought guitar volume pedals but since I need to buy four of them, I would rather have expression pedals that I can assign to other parameters.
Will the Quattro allow me to essentially extend the midi assign capabilities of my controller by adding 4 expression pedal slots?
My thinking is that I can assign the track faders in ableton to the musician's individual expression pedals giving them the ability to control their dynamics themselves.
*Note: Although the no-input mixers themselves have volume faders, these faders do not work simply as volume when there is feedback loops, they change the pitch as well as amplitude, so i need another option.
I need to make sure that I can midi assign four separate expression pedals to their own individual volume fader in the DAW.
Also for another piece I need to be able to assign the four expression pedals to 4 separate functions for one player on one no-input mixer. (Volume, and 3 different effects Dry/Wets).
I have been searching high and low for a solution, and I am hoping the audiofront Quattro is the answer.
Thoughts?
Best,
Matthew

Re: Questions about the Quattro
Wonderful thanks!
Just for peace of mind and as this will probably be a institutional purchase, what is audiofront’s return policy?
Thank you

Re: Questions about the Quattro
Hello Rob,
Got the Quattro and it seems to be working perfectly. I am however having a small issue with using Quattro in conjunction with my Akai APC mkii controller on Ableton Live 10.
I need to control the volume faders of tracks 1-3 with three foot pedals. I am using 3 Yamaha FC7 expression pedals through the Quattro and they work great. True plug and play.
The issue I am running into is that my controller now has the volume faders all goofed up. The order is wrong. An example is that track 2 fader on the apc40 now controls track 3's volume and vice versa. I am sure this has to do with CC midi stuff, but I know absolutely nothing about this.
I downloaded the apc40 mkii communications protocol pdf from the Akai website but im a bit lost to be honest. Any thoughts?
Thank you
