inexpensive dual switches

Post by reed »

one of my foot switches for my ME devices is the Hosa Fsc-385 Dual Latching Switch. I just love the fact that I can connect a dual switch into an input of the ME. As I want to assign more midi functions to foot switches, those dual foot switches come in pretty handy and help save room on the floor. I was looking for dual foot switches, and I found really inexpensive ones. Looks nice and small.

Ya, nice and small. I only worry that it might tip over.

You may be right, but I think it will work for me. It's not just about the cost, but it will save room in my suitcase for oversea trips. By the way, this vendor says you can have it either as normally open or normally closed. As a nomally open, (I understand it as a momentary, non-latching) it can serve as the smallest sustain pedal. I need a couple of them in two different styles.

Today I received in the mail two of these mini switches. It is interesting that these are momentary not latching. I thought just about all foot swtiches of this type are latching just like my Hosa Fsc-385 Dual Latching Switch. Acutally, these cheap dual momentary serve my pusepose better and the toggle function in the ME editor makes it possible to have it both way. I don't know how it works but it works in a very flexble way. I connected the mini switch to one input of ME; the first foot switch acts as a latching and the second as a momentary. Pretty useful. This got to be the world's smallest sustain pedal! I tried to use the Hosa FSC-385 Dual Latching as a sustain pedal, but it was very unnatural and got in the way. These foot switches help me save lots of room in my suitcase and on the floor. Well, what make it all possible and flexible is the ME itself. I have the original ME, Quattro, and ME iO. I have noticed Rob released yet another firmware and new version of the editor. Thanks for the updates.
