I am very interested in purchasing the MIDI Expression Quattro, however I have some concerns about it using the Windows class compliant driver. I assume this means the Windows Class Compliant midi driver. This driver is notorius for device issues when used on multiple devices on the same MIDI host computer. I already have an Alesis Wireless Vortex that uses this driver. When I initially got and setup my Vortex, I had serious communication problems between the USB dongle and Windows. The issue turned out to be a conflict with another device using this driver (CopperLan). I ended up having to uninstall and stop using CopperLan between my two DAWs in order to get stable performance from the Vortex. This was the case using either the USB wireless dongle and/or going straight from the Vortex to the host using a USB cable.
If I end up having a conflict between the MIDI Expression and my Vortex, doing away with the Vortex is not an option and it would leave me with a piece of gear that while it shows promise, would be useless to me in my live rig. Is there any kind of money-back guarantee if I run into compatibility issues?
thanks,

Re: MIDI Expression Quattro Class Compliant Driver
Absolutely. If you purchase one and you find it has issues on your system, you can return it full a full refund.

Re: MIDI Expression Quattro Class Compliant Driver
Okay, follow-up question. Will this work through a USB hub without issue, or does it require a host-provided native USB port?

It should work fine using a USB hub.

Re: MIDI Expression Quattro Class Compliant Driver
Will each pedal on the Quad version .. show up as a separate routable device in windows? or does it just show up as 1 "quad unit" with one entry?
In my use case I am debating getting 12 singles vs 3 quads. I need them to be totally separate i will be putting them in pairs into midi channels 1-6
Quad Unit 1 ---pedal 1+2 =midi ch 1 pedal 3+4 = Midi ch 2
Quad Unit 2 ---pedal 1+2 =midi ch 3 pedal 3+4 = Midi ch 4
Quad Unit 3 ---pedal 1+2 =midi ch 5 pedal 3+4 = Midi ch 6
IMPORTANT: I need them to show up each as separate entries for routing using:
http://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator
OR Could i just shove the PLUGIN version of your app into each of the tracks to route the pedals directly to the plugin bypassing the midi router app?
Would this plugin also see other devices? or just the pedals?
