DSP trigger on Mac

Hi,

I just bought the VST version for Mac and used it with my TD3 kit and it works really great!

I triggered the snare and now I have positional sensing, rim click+shot and it plays so much better now, more dynamics and I even think it's faster now (I have my soundcard set to 32 samples). Thanks for this great product!

Any chance there will be a AU version that I can use with Logic?

BTW: I think about buying more audio ins for my soundcard and almost bypassing my TD3 (just for CC4).

Regards,
Andreas

It's great to hear that it's performing well for you.

I'd like to make an AU version, but I honestly don't know how yet or what exactly is involved. I'll be looking into it, though.

In regards to the CC4 thing, I hear you. It's the only thing holding DSP Trigger back from being a full fledged drum brain. I've actually tried to plug my FD-8 into my sound card to see if I could support it somehow, but it's not looking possible. Interestingly, however, I had much more success using the hihat controller of my HD-1 (it uses a slightly different technology) and so it should be possible. I just need someone to make and sell the pedal!

I have the VH11 and the CC4 trigger is just a resistor.

Just in theory:

Wouldn't it be possible to send a signal (e.g. 1kHz sinus) to the resistor and analyze the output to determine the level of open-ness?

I know if this would work the wiring of it all would be more complicated ....

Interesting. I might have to try that, but you're right that needing an input and an output for the hat would make things far too complicated. The HD-1 is using a single mono connection, so I really think that's the way to go.

What vst-wrapper are you using? Have you tried it in Reaper?

I tryed FXpansion VST to AU Adapter.
I believe that this great plugin is working fine in every host that supports vst.
I had a chance to try it on a windows pc with studio one and i was excited.

I don't think vst wrappers will have any luck with DSP Trigger because it has to send MIDI events to the host. AU's require creating a virtual MIDI device or something which is quite different. Anyways, I'm sure we'll eventually see an AU version, but it won't be anytime soon.
