I have a very powerful low latency audio interface from RME (Fireface UFX+) with several inputs. Could this be used as my main "trigger module" with DSP Trigger? I plan to build the whole e-kit (converted from acoustic) from scratch to use with it. I perhaps I will need a separate solution for hihat, maybe MIDI Expression?
Sadly EdrumIN is not an option as it is not for sale right now and I want to build a kit to work while I wait for EdrumIN.

DSP trigger is viable option, but factor in how many inputs you need. Many pads require/prefer stereo input, so will take 2 of your fireface mono inputs per pad. I imagine that a cheap Behringer ADA will solve this problem.
HH control is an issue though. EdrumIN does it very well indeed, perhaps someone else can comment if MIDI expression is okay or not.

A MIDI Expression could work for hihat if you were using hihat control that's not mounted on a stand, otherwise you would have crosstalk issues. Also, DSP Trigger won't properly support choking on cymbals. These are all reasons I why I developed eDRUMin.

@Rob. Thanks. Well, I really, really need eDRUMin so badly. It is really sad it isn't available now. I am just trying to figure out what I can do in the mean time. I really need eDRUMin 10 but since it should be available only in August 2023 I guess I will get the eDRUMin 4 in October 2022, hopefully. I just have to control myself not to buy a cheap Roland drum module in the mean time! But I guess I could always sell it later to get eDRUM in 4/10. But anyway...waiting is always hard when all you want is to play. Thank you!
