does any one think DSP trigger be able to trigger by foot pedal through audio interface in to application such as ableton live?
i try to use foot pedal through audio interface in, to control mute on/off for track of ableton live.
ive just download demo version 1.3 of DSP trigger but DSP trigger doesn't appear vst brower in ableton. so i could not test this yet.
if anyone knows DSP trigger works please give me some advice.
thank you,
knb

Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
Firstly, DSP Trigger will work in Ableton Live, but I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do. By 'foot pedal' do you mean a hihat pedal or some other type of pedal. What's the name of the pedal you are trying to use?yasacop wrote:does any one think DSP trigger be able to trigger by foot pedal through audio interface in to application such as ableton live?
It sounds like you want to use it to automate Ableton, but I don't think this is possible. You might be able to get it to work using some sort of MIDI loopback using virutal ports, but I think that would be pretty tricky to setup.yasacop wrote:i try to use foot pedal through audio interface in, to control mute on/off for track of ableton live.
Are you using the 64bit or 32bit version of Live? You'll need to make sure you install DSP Trigger to your VST plugin folder.yasacop wrote:ive just download demo version 1.3 of DSP trigger but DSP trigger doesn't appear vst brower in ableton. so i could not test this yet.

Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
hi, Rob
thank you for replying.
apparently, i use boss FS-5U foot switch which has audio cable goes into motu interface audio in. then try to mute on/off of ableton track.
a lot of time in live situations, i have both hands full to control knobs and need one more foot switch to control ableton live for mute on/off of the track.
maybe a lots of people ask me why don't you use midi in instead of audio in.
actually, i have behringer bcf 2000 has foot switch in, and be able to accept boss FS-5U foot switch as midi controller.
this unite does exactly what i want to do.
however, behringer bcf 2000 is too big and i don't want to use it because need to be minimize my set up.
so basically i just want to use same foot switch to control midi for ableton but using behringer bcf 2000.
so my trigger source is not drum pad or something like that.
i don't know dsp trigger might not proper vst for using that purpose or do you think still i have any luck?
by the way, i think i use 32 bit ableton live version 7

Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
Sorry, but DSP Trigger will not work with a footswitch. It's probably possible to support it, but you still wouldn't be able to automate anything in Ableton with it.
Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
i think i should use Midi controller behringer which accept foot switch to control midi.
thank you for your time to answer my question.

Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
i have been using an old USB keyboard as a foot switch to control ableton
obviously with all but some keys removed
it works perfectly, and you don't need any interface at all - it just uses the KEY rather than MIDI commands
of course if you wanted to go one step further you could take the keyboard to bits and wire up your own footswitches to the USB logic board - again pretty straightforward
you could have almost as many switches as there are keys on a keyboard...

Re: Audio trigger to Midi in ableton
I have a rewired joystick that I use in combination with a program called 'autohotkey'. I fashioned it into a bar of buttons that I use to control the transport with my feet for when I'm tracking guitar or keys. It's nice because it allows you to keep your hands free.
