The checkbox corresponding to the Expression device in the Input part of the Midi Pors (Midi Devices) in my version of Cantabile, just like you pointed out - made it work. Again - thank you (I am running Windows 10 btw. Cantabile Light 2.0.0.0 is stable on this platform)...

You are right. There is no need. I use Cantabile VST host. I can specify port and channel in the Cantabile rack as well as channel. (The same way there is no need to specify channel either. Dont know why I would use that feature in fact.) The question was part of a desperate way of investigating why...

Is there a place to specify midi port number the Midi Expression should communicate with (in addition to selecting the channel number)?
