Re: Latency
For me it was. Able to get reported ASIO lag under 1ms out and 1.5 ms in with 128 buffers at 96K. Also includes direct monitoring on inputs using total mix. Not cheap to go MADI.

If you have a spare input, can use headphone splitters to use two inputs and set up two drums inside eDRUMin.

Buy everything you can used. Be flexible and open to what is available for cheap. Especially the hardware/stands/pedals.
Re: Latency
The lag problem: Lag is more of an issue with e-drums that any other case. I want to hear sound in under 4.5ms from the time I hit the drum. With 3ms of that taken up by triggers, leaves 1.5ms for everything else. I went with RME MADI FX and Ferrofish A32 to handle it. Have to use RME configs with m...

Re: Y-splitter - which cables do I need?
In general, it's called an insert cable. Stereo at one end, dual mono at the other. This assumes a MONO end will be in the drum and the drum is ok with that. That kind of cable is classically used to insert a compressor into a mixer channel.

Re: Any interest in a touchscreen control for eDRUMin?
I would not be interested. Once triggers are setup up, I hope to not mess with them. If I was on tour with an equipment budget My view would likely change. However, from a marketing standpoint I could see that part of a system selling tons. If you could provide software for use on an Ipad or surface...

Re: Acustic drums and mics as inputs
My guess is this will be a future product. There are many software products on the market that are good at converting audio to MIDI.
If Audiofront did it, I bet it would work better than the others.

For that case, I suggest you look at KAT pedals. Easy to move and hook up.

Re: Audio Front Wireless Triggers
The issue with Bluetooth is not the amount of data, but the latency. It's great for sending music around, where you don't notice the latency, but not for playing drums in real time. i'm sure you know this already Perceval, but for people unfamiliar, the latency with midi over bluetooth is much much...

Re: ATV or EFNOTE Snare
I can confirm EF note does not do position sensing. For me that is not an issue. It feels great and tracks volume well without a hot spot, feels good, and has a second trigger for the cross stick. Since it was my first non-hotspot drum, very happy. I gave up using position sense for everything excep...
