Re: Roland PD-140DS (digital series) and eDRUMin compatibility
I'm now frothing over the EF Note 5. What a beautiful looking and sounding kit. The garbage that Roland passes off for in their modules... honestly, highway robbery when you factor everything into something like the VAD 706 at 10K.

Re: Couple of suggestions that might make it easier for beginner
+1 definitely for the manual links or a tooltip. I won't speak for anyone else, but I hate watching a video for reference material. I think they're great for tutorials, but if you're trying to figure out which knob to turn to fix x problem...not so much. Yup, hate videos unless it is something that...

Re: Roland PD-140DS (digital series) and eDRUMin compatibility
Is the VH-10 really that good? Others on the vdrums forum say that the VH-14D is "night and day" yadda yadda, so who knows if that's confirmation bias or not.

Re: Yamaha woes
Ok, so I switched up a couple of things: I yanked out an old Macbook Pro and hooked up my MOTU 828es via Thunderbolt, set it to 64 samples. Setup DTX 700 direct into the MOTU via MIDI DIN and wow, that was a revelation. Basically flawless triggering with a few minor quibbles with the hi-hats; ended ...

Re: eDRUMin and Yamaha DTX PRO module
Just going to keep answering my own posts, but...
Kenton MIDI Host (or the like, I think iConnect MIDI series can function as a standalone host too) could sit between eDRUMin and DTX PRO.

eDRUMin and Yamaha DTX PRO module
The DTX PRO doesn't have a MIDI DIN Input, but has a "to device" USB port and can "send and receive MIDI data" according to the specs.
Can the eDRUMin appear as a MIDI host to the DTX PRO?

Re: Roland PD-140DS (digital series) and eDRUMin compatibility
Might want to check out this YouTube video. It’s not exactly what you are asking, but in there Luke talks about connecting a digital of to a USB MIDI host. That is basically what Rob just suggested. https://youtu.be/z9Ina9wxnbU Ok, from what I gathered there is that it would work, but you'd lose po...

Roland PD-140DS (digital series) and eDRUMin compatibility
Curious to know how well, if at all, the Roland digital line of pads/cymbals (and new hi-hat) work with the eDRUMin module.
EDIT: not very, because it requires USB and has a proprietary onboard controller by the looks of it

Re: Yamaha woes
Did you play a lot with the DTX700 settings? or buy it 2nd hand? Might be good to do a factory reset, just in case some settings were altered to throw things off... DTX700 Factory Reset Press the [MENU] button. Turn the [DIAL] to move the cursor to “Utility”. Press the [DIAL]. Turn the [DIAL] to mo...

Re: Yamaha woes
Ok, so I have some work to do then: The hi-hat pedal close is extremely hot: way too much gain. I tried the RHH 135 and the RHH 65 and both are similar. The hi-hat Bow seems fine, when closed, but triggering Edge requires a lot of force which also seems to trigger the Bell, which sounds like the bel...
