Re: hihat pedal foot chick missing hits
Solved - apparently, my drumsoftware can generate the hit from the cc data. Works perfect now.

Re: hihat pedal foot chick missing hits
Yes, I know, that's why I said it goes from 0 to 127 instantly, so this is the highest possible speed.

hihat pedal foot chick missing hits
I have a very simple DIY hihat pedal, it works with a simple reed switch on a Hihat stand. I only need an 'open' or 'closed' signal. This worked fine with my Roland Module, but I cannot get the foot chick to work with eDRUMin. It simply never registers a hit. As you can see in the link, the cc value...

Re: DSP trigger and Zildjian Gen 16 Cymbals
So I tried triggering the eDRUMin device with the GEN16 AE output and it works. I didn't get great dynamics jet, but maybe it needs a bit more tweaking. This means you can trigger eDRUMin with contact mics also.

Re: DSP trigger and Zildjian Gen 16 Cymbals
I tried DSP trigger with dampened GEN16 AE cymbals and it triggers perfect. Of course, it would also be very hard to get good triggering results on an undampened cymbal with piezo triggers! I didn't need to use the 'microphone' setting in DSP trigger, it just worked with the 'generic pad' settings. ...

Re: DSP trigger and Zildjian Gen 16 Cymbals
The Zildjian 'direct source pickup sensor' is nothing more than an electret microphone. You can make it work with any electret preamp (you can find them for 1$) and a standard mixing table. So there's no need to buy the expensive 'direct source pickup' (which is Zildjians preamp) and cymbal controll...

Re: Hihat pedal input used as normal MIDI input
Thanks, I forgot the inputs are stereo. I don't play rimshots on my toms, so that's an easy solution!
Didn't buy a unit yet, I wanted to make sure I would have at least 5 inputs.

Hihat pedal input used as normal MIDI input
Hi, Does anyone know if it's possible to use the hihat pedal input as a normal pad input? I want to use 5 pads and no hihat pedal. I'm playing electronic with Zildjians GEN16 AE, so I don't need a hihat and cymbal inputs. It would be great to have the snare, 3 Toms and the kick on 1 edrumin device. ...
