Re: eDRUMin version 2.3.2 BETA now available
Those rotary encoders look sweet! I'm using footswitches at the moment and they work great for bank changes, but those look way more versatile. Plus I like how these are more connected to the pad/trigger/input itself. Gonna have to order a couple. I implemented them on my MIDI Expression devices a ...

Re: Feature Request - Input labels
I read Rob's reply and I would still second this request. It would just be a text label, how much memory would that take? Kit/piece images alone are not enough, that just shows me a bunch of similar looking pads without being able to discern between makes and models. And I don't have time or inclina...

Re: Sticks matter!
I like Vater's Sugar Maple Super Jazz for a light touch; maple seems to keep the vibrations in check.
Basic Vic Firth 5AN for most other playing styles. I have some older wood tip sticks that are wearing away, but sticks are consumables so that's fine by me.

Re: eDRUMin version 2.3.1 BETA
Build 32 killed my ED4 dead, after showing the dreaded "you have unsaved changes" message.
Can you resend the instructions to revive it? Thanks.
MEC_log.txt attached.
EDIT: found the instructions in my old emails, ED4 is back up and running with Build 32.

Re: Modules with outputs?
Not sure what the ask is. Outputs? Of what? The eDrumIn translates waveforms into MIDI. It does not produce any sounds, and frankly, I wouldn't want it to, because that would make it an entirely different product of which there already are plenty. That said, the DrumPi looks interesting as a compani...

Re: Finally Real E-Cymbals from Zildjian
I’ve played these in a Guitar Center, of all places, the other day and they sure feel nice, but I hate proprietary algorithms and I hate weird/fragile connectors like that. On top of that, it’s the sampling software that really makes the difference here. I’m not convinced these are the future, unles...

Sticks matter!
The size and weight of your sticks matter, even when you’re playing electronic drums. A heavier stick will make it easier to play heavier, solid beats; and a lighter stick will make playing subtle, jazzier beats easier. No, it will not change the sound of your drums, but it will change how much ener...

Re: Mistriggering caused by defect in mesh-heads?
Follow-up. I contacted Drum-Tec and explained the issue (with photographs.) They acknowledged that they have a batch of black 10" heads that are flatter than they should be, and offered me a refund. So while this is probably a rare occurrence, just keep in mind next time when you're having issu...

Re: Best mesh heads
I'm using a Drum-Tec "Real Feel" 3-ply head on my DIY modded Hart Acusnare and it triggers perfectly, including positional sensing. In fact, it's waaaay better than the 2-ply head I used before. With regard to hotspots, keep in mind that 3-ply heads, when properly tensioned, are a lot stif...
