Re: hall sensor for hihat input wiring diagram.

I'll be honest I'm not sure I fully understand your comment, other than needing external power for the sensors I ordered, which just seems not worth the effort for me as I move my kit around and it's just more stuff to plug in and potentially break. Is there not a sensor that works well with EDs HH ...

Re: hall sensor for hihat input wiring diagram.

thanks man, I've ordered a few of those from Farnell also, the magnets I use are N52s rectangular (3 together), my harddrive ones will be put to use in my shaker pedal I'm creating. The angle; I held the sensor in place and tried moving the magnets around to see what worked, I use one of the flat si...

Re: hall sensor for hihat input wiring diagram.

The green bar is a voltmeter. A narrow green region, for me, that means your contruction leads only to a small change of the output voltage when moving the hats. That's why I choose a hall effect sensor with a V_out of 4.5 with a supply Voltage V_s of 5 V. I think thats what we have on the edrum, s...

I really appreciate the speed in which you bring out updates Rob, just thought I should say that for once instead of continuous bug reports!

Re: Edrum tracking versus Megadrum

Sell the MD, buy an ED10.

I couldn't set up MD without constant help from forums whereas ED it was easy to get it playable and I've sought advice for perfecting rather than functioning.

One good thing about the MD journey though is that I learnt a lot about drums and a bit about electronics.

Re: hall sensor for hihat input wiring diagram.

You are not going to get a linear response from a linear hall effect sensor. A linear hall effect sensor outputs a voltage proportional to the strength of the magnetic field, however the strength of a magnetic field is not proportional to distance. That being said, if you mount it off to the side a...

Re: hall sensor for hihat input wiring diagram.

https://i.imgur.com/d5iFBIm.jpg This is great, I should change mine to be more similar to this one I need to buy some new hall sensors so can anyone confirm which are the best? I'd like to have one that has a good distance of 4-5cm and is actually linear (my one has a curve where it has more sensit...
