Re: CE certification?
"Trading on the EEA market" here means that it's being sold to a buyer who is residing in the EEA/EU. It would defy the point of the marking if the requirement were only to apply to companies that have a physical presence in the EU. There's been a push in recent years to enforce the requir...

Re: CE certification?
Mylo, it depends if and how the device is powered. I take it that you were talking about passive Jobeky cymbals and triggers, i.e. the devices are not directly connected to a power source but only send audio signals over TRS cables. Take a look a this cymbal from Roland: https://static.roland.com/as...

Re: CE certification?
If you're from Germany you're probably familiar with cases like these: https://www.owlaw.de/zollrecht-beratung/2887-wenn-zoll-und-marktueberwachung-die-ware-festhalten/ Just because the customs officers in your case didn't raise an issue with an electronic device originating from Asia not having a C...

Re: USB driver, latency, mixing
Hardware is class compliant or not. There are not different degrees of class compliance. Actually, there are vast differences in driver support of USB chips. If the USB solution chosen in the eDRUMin is not properly supported under Mac OS then you get all sorts of artifacts, most commonly jitter, i...

Re: CE certification?
Uhm ok. How about this? https://ec.europa.eu/growth/single-market/ce-marking/manufacturers_en Doesn't get more official. Same content. Manufacturers play a crucial role in ensuring that products placed on the extended single market of the European Economic Area (EEA) are safe. They are responsible f...

Re: USB driver, latency, mixing
I have no doubt about that. The packets sent from the eDRUMin still have to be processed by a USB driver in the OS, and depending on the model family of the USB transmitter inside the eDRUMin MacOS will choose different drivers, with some being faster than others. Generally speaking, the more widely...

Re: CE certification?
Well, I'm in the EU, that's why I'm asking. If the device is imported into the EU via an online order placed with a business outside the EU, and if the device category requires CE marking - which does apply here because the item falls under the category "electronic equipment"- and if the d...

Re: USB driver, latency, mixing
Thanks. As you mentioned in the other thread you haven't measured latency on Mac OS, which'd be my primary OS for connecting an eDRUMin. To gauge what kind of latency I'd get on Mac OS, are you able to reveal which USB transmitter chip you're using in the device? Asking because some chips behave bet...

CE certification?
Does the eDRUMin device have a CE conformity declaration? Asking because customs in EU countries have a tendency to confiscate and destroy imported electronical devices that don't have at least the CE marking on them.

USB driver, latency, mixing
It's my understanding that MIDI out is provided either through the DIN port, or through MIDI over USB, is that correct? If so, the product pages mention a very low latency of just a few milliseconds. Is that just internal processing latency, or latency until the MIDI note is transmitted to and recei...
