It will work just fine. I had four ED4s before the ED10 was released. Ran them through a hub just like you are describing. Works great.

The theory with hot Jobeky triggers is that they use the cylinder foam shape instead of the cone shape. I assume the extra surface area of the cylinder is making it hotter.
