Re: Creating Electronic Rototoms
I think for development purposes you could attach an AudioFront Rotary Encoder to the stand of a real Rototom and then attach a disk to the Rototom itself that touches the Rotary encoder and causes it to turn when the Rototom turns. Then, again for development purposes, use something like Bome MIDI ...

Re: Which mapping inside SD3?
I'm using a DIY 5 piece A2E kit. I settled on using the Roland mapping in the eDRUMin and SD3.

Pre sales question regarding Yamaha FC7
Can the Quattro fix the problem of when you plug in a 50K pot based foot pedal into keyboards looking for 10K? I have a Yamaha FC7 expression pedal. For some keyboards like my Axiom 61 I've used a pair of Hosa Y cables to reverse the polarity. I'm using it for Hammond emulations and the volume swell...

Re: Convert acoustic set to digital using only off the shelf piezo
Roland developed the piezo attached to a foam cone method for sensing the hits. It's tried and true. You could make your own cross bar using metal angle bars that are drilled so you can fit them over the existing bolts used to fasten the lugs. Then fasten a flat metal bar across from the angles on e...

Re: Convert acoustic set to digital using only off the shelf piezo
To track correctly you need center mounted piezo units with the foam cones and a jack. I bought a UFOdrums eBridge kit for my 5 piece Ludwig Accent Combo. The only modification to the drums was removing the air hole grommet which made the hole big enough to mount the jack. For the hi-hat buy the Aud...

Re: Suggested hihat controller/pads/pedal for realism?
A Roland VH-13 is considered one of the best. A less expensive alternative is the Lemon hi-hat. DIY solution is to buy a Hall Effect sensor here from AudioFront and mount a small neodymium magnet on the bottom of a hi-hat pedal and use a Yamaha PCY-135 as the cymbal itself. I think Superior Drummer ...

Re: Rotary Encoder question
I figured out why the cable was mislabeled. For splash or china cymbals I used single zone so two cymbals can go into one ED10 input. I got confused with tip and ring input on the splitter and ended up mislabeling the cable.
