New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
I got an edrumin10 R2 and a brand new CY-15RMG, I set it as Dual Cymbal with bell sense and used the CY-15 preset, however I'm getting bell sounds 1 inch below the bell, I put a sticker on it, above the sticker from the bottom up to where the bell starts I get the bell. Is this how it should work?
Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
I'll make another small improvement in version 1.6.0.2, which should help a bit. You can always you two inputs instead of bell sense.
Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
I did that but the bell was hard to trigger, I had to whack it really hard to get a sound, like on any Roland module… I just increased the bell scaler though, I forgot to increase the gain and modify the curve, will try again
Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
That won't help... Bell triggering Roland style is crap.
Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
Indeed, even with gain and bell scaler set to max it still sucks, bell triggers sporadically
Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
With the .02 beta all my hits in the yellow sticker now trigger the bow, great work!

I just found another bug....you'll like build 3. I'll post in 5 mins.

Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
I have a similar oddity with my CY-15R wired up with 2 leads (I haven't tried single lead bell-sense yet).
When I crash the edge of the cymbal, I either get a crash or a bell trigger. I've done careful calibration but the problem persists intermittently. It was working fine with 3 zones on the TD-20 but I can't see a reason for this. I've even made sure the bell/edge aren't reversed in Addictive Drums as it's possible to do that.
The cymbal bow and bell separation is great but I never know whether I'll get a crash or bell when I ride the edge!

You're sure you don't have your cables mixed up? What firmware version are you using?

Re: New Roland CY-15, bell extends to bow 1 inch
Thanks for replying Rob.
The firmware is what was loaded when the units arrived - 1.5.0.21.
The cables in the cymbal remained in-place when I swapped out my TD-20 so no change there.
The Bow/Edge cable is in input 5 and the Bow/Bell is in input 6.
Does this make a difference? I know the TD-20 had specific inputs for the cymbal but I'm not sure if that applies to the eDRUMin.
