Orange Exclamnation Point (No Sound/trigger)

Post by AndyA »

One of my cymabals stopped triggering and has an orange exclamation point like below. If I switch to a different input it works. Any idea? I've had this setup for weeks and suddenly just happened.

If I change it to be something else like a mesh centre piezo it seems to work fine.
Any cymbal in the preset manager and it doesnt work. It's a jobeky 3 zone cymbal.

Thanks,
Andy

It means that eDRUMin thinks that there is an electrical issue with the pad.

1. The cable might have an issue.
2. The edge switch on your pad might be damaged.
3. The threshold the device uses to decide if a piezo is connected might be too aggressive.

I'll revisit the code I use to detect issue with pads today and make changes for the next version if necessary. For now, if you want to make the problem go away, you can disable the compatibility check by following the instructions at the end of this thread.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for getting back to me.
All new cables and cymbals, switching cables seems to work but your ignore compatibility solved it for me anyway. Is it ok to use it like this permanently?

Ya, you should be fine. In version 2 I've relaxed the threshold for the compatibility issue a bit. Hopefully that will clear up anymore false positives.
