Re: Hi Hat Pedal Linking Question
I wanted to post an update on this, as I actually got to try it today. So I hooked up my splitter cable, and plugged two TRS cable equivalents of the same hi hat pedal into two different pedal ports on the edrumin. I linked my BT-1 to the second, 'new' hi hat pedal (the first being already linked to my original hi hat cymbals), but I couldn't get it to work properly, closed hi hat wouldn't work, and the pedal was acting funky. I did also change the pedal note, splash note, and CC to something unused.Rob wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:49 amI tried today. It works fine, but you'll need to assign the CC, pedal note, splash not of the second pedal input to something unused or you will get double notes. I simple changed the MIDI channel of the second pedal input to channel 9 and in Superior Drum I set it to only respond to channel 10.
I closed the edrumin app on Windows, and thought it wouldn't save my changes, as I had the auto save off, but it did somehow (maybe I clicked on it, not sure). I closed SD3 and shut my laptop down, disconnected the splitter cable, and extra cable duplicating the hi hat pedal, and went back to what I had before (standard hi hat pedal, only one, linked to the hi hat cymbals). I didn't unlink the BT-1 at all.
I boot up my laptop again, and open SD3, and edrumin app, and to my amazement, the hi hat pedal is working perfectly, but also has the BT-1 still linked to it! So with the extra cables disconnected, it still shows the BT-1 with hi hat cymbals icon, and is linked to the original hi hat pedal (the 'duplicated' hi hat pedal input is grayed out as it's no longer hooked up). So in the end I was able to get exactly what I wanted working perfectly, and then didn't even have to keep all the extra cabling hooked up. I thought if anyone else was interested in being able to do this, that this might be helpful. Thanks again Rob!

Re: Hi Hat Pedal Linking Question
I tried this today and very happy with it. My main HH is a VH13. I moved my old VH10 to an xhat position, but the there was no foot pedal. I would set the xhat to whatever open/closeness I wanted and left it like that. That worked fine, but after reading this thread I gave this a shot. I like this set up better. I did have to recalibrate the VH13 but that was no big deal. The VH13 is connected to an eDRUMin 4 and the VH10 cymbal is connected to an eDRUMin 10. My VH10 controller is no longer connected. Besides the obvious benefit of using the normal HH pedal for both hats so now xhat has CC, I was also able to get rid of using my xhat through a 2nd instance of EZD2 on a separate MIDI channel. Thanks for the post about this and Rob presenting his test results.
